PHOTO/MEDIA INFORMATION
Policy & Procedures

Any and all photographers must have restricted access vest & passes to shoot from designated track side areas.  ALL REQUESTS must be made in writing.

Please send all requests for Photo and/or Media Credentials to: Dwayne Harksell  @  Fax # 520-796-0531 – No later than 7 days prior to the event.

Please include full name, days requested, contact info, including email address, and team or media affiliation.  Confirmations with Firebird Raceway policy will be sent out within 5 days of event.

Photo Credentials are required for track side restricted access.

1. CREDENTIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Agreement
Each photographer must sign the FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY Photo Policy to be granted to shoot at FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY.  By signing below, you are accepting and agreeing to the terms of the FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY Photo Policy.  FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY requires that all freelancers and/or photographers supply copies of photos taken during this event.  High Res CD with Thumbnails should be turned in within 10 days of the event or future credentials may be denied.
A $75.00 refundable deposit is required upon your photo credential packet pick up.  The fee will be refunded upon completion of the event, returning of the Photographers Vest / Wrist band and receipt of the High Res CD with Thumbnails by FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY.  Violating this agreement forfeits your deposit.
Pick up
Photo credentials can be picket up at FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY prior to the event.

Day Before Event at main office from 9AM to 4PM (Ask for Dwayne Harksell)
Day of Event please go to Gate 1 Will Call

2. Description of Credentials
A “Restricted Photo Area Pass” is necessary to enter the Restricted Photographers Area.  It must be worn and easily visible at all times and is not transferable.  FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY reserves the right to approve or deny all credential requests and revoke credentials, prior to or during any event.  A fee may be charged by FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY.  The three types of credentials are listed bleow:

Photo Credentials

  • Access to start line, pits, and wall.
  • Access Vest will be provided, and must be worn & returned
  • VIP parking Pass

Team Photo Credentials

  • There are two types of Team Photo Credentials.
    • Sportsman – Photographers who have been issued a Sports photo credential are permitted in the Photo Area through the completion of each of the Sports Time Trial Sessions ONLY.
    • Pros – Photographers who have been issued a Pros photo credential are permitted in the Photo Area through the completion of each of the Pros Time Trial Sessions ONLY.
  • Access to start line, pits, and wall.
  • Access Vest will be provided, and ,must be worn & returned
  • VIP or Pit Acess parking

Media / PR Representatives

  • Access to Press Room
  • Access laminate will be provided, must be worn and returned
  • All access Parking
3. Photo Area
The photo Area is located behind the retaining wall on each side of the track, extending from the starting line to 225 feet down track, marked on the wall, ground and/or cones.  Photographers are not permitted beyond this point at any time.  Top end access is available only by special permission from FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY.  ABSOLUTELY NO VIDEO filming is allowed without Permission.
  • PHOTOGRAPHERS MUST STAY BEHIND THE RETAINING WALL AT ALL TIMES. Photographers are not permitted on the track wall at any time during the event.  Do not lean against or over the retaining wall at any time.  Cameras and equipment cannot be mounted on or placed against the retaining wall.
  • Photographers are not permitted in the “starter’s box” or on the racing surface (track, burnout area, starting line) at ANY time.
  • When walking from one side of the track to the other, walk cautiously behind the burnout area.
  • There will be a Sweep of the Photo Area between each session to ensure the Photo Area is clear before allowing the Photographers for the next session into the Photo Area.
  • Photographers who do not have access to the Press Room (all Team Photo and Photo Only Credential Photographers) will have access to a lap top computer with Internet Access at the FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY Tent on the Midway. 
4. ACCREDITATION
  • No Freelancing.  Freelance photographers are not permitted without specific approval from FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY.  A credential is required.
  • FREELANCE PHOTOGRAPHY REQUEST
    • $250 license fee per event.  You must apply.  Not all requests will be approved.  NO ON SITE SALES.  Please make requests in writing on letterhead and mail or fax to Firebird International Raceway.  Shoot from Designated Locations Only.  Approved areas vary from event to event
  • No Selling.  Selling of photographs to fans or spectators is strictly prohibited at this event and is grounds for removal of credentials & denial of future credentials.
  • Official Photographers.  FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY has many “Official” photographers and releasing photo and press credentials is at the sole discretion of Firebird Management.  In addition, receiving a pass for one event does not mean that you will receive a pass for all events.
5. CONDUCT
  • Compliance with the Direction of FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY Staff; Non-Interference with Event.  Photographers shall not interfere or impede any spectators, other media personnel, or the conduct of the race or any part of the event and shall follow all instructions of FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY personnel directing the event.
  • Precautions/Danger.  Performance in drag racing is measured in seconds.  Be Safe.  Do not take your eyes off the racing vehicles.
  • Vest/Wrist Bands.  A FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY vest or wrist band must be worn at all times while in the Photo Area.  Please return the vests and wrist bands to FIREBIRD INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY media relations personal upon completion of your assignment.
  • Attire.  For access to the trackside Photo Area, shirts with fully-covered shoulders must be worn and shoes with closed heels and toes must be worn (no open toed shoes, sandals, clogs slides, etc).
  • Courtesy.  The Photo Area is a working area.  Please be courteous to your colleagues and leave the area when you are not working
